Mainlines
A broad category of cars from the black wall period till today consisiting of several sub categories. Plastic wheels and bases on newer models which are produced in the millions, it is where most begin collecting.

Redlines
Redlines is where it all started for Elliot Handler, the inventor of Hot Wheels. Redlines were introduced in 1968 with an initial 16 models often referred to as the “Sweet 16”
Redlines were produced from 1968-1977.

Convention Cars
There are two major Conventions each year in the USA. The Annual Collectors Convention which has been held since 1987. The Annual Nationals started in 2001. These cars are limited and highly sought after by serious collectors.

Treasure Hunts
Treasure Hunts were introduced in 1995 with a limited number of 10,000 of each of the 12 models released, treasure hunts may or may not have Real Rider Tyres. 25,000 were released in 1996 and numbers have never been released subsequently.

Real Riders
Real Riders started in 1983 with the addition of rubber wheeled tyres with either White (W) or Grey (G) hubs and were instantly a hit amongst collectors. They are still highly sought after more than 30 years later.

Zamacs
ZAMAC is an acronym for Zinc, Aluminium, Magnesium and Copper alloy that die cast cars are cast from. It is an unpainted finish on the body. The term “ZAMAC” was first coined in 1998 with a 25 car ZAMAC release at the 1998 Convention. ZAMAC marked cars are exclusively sold in Walmart.

Super Trea$ure Hunt$
Super Treasure hunts were introduced in 2007 and always have Real Rider Wheels. It is a limited number and some models can fetch 4 figures!!! It is what drives collectors to go from store to store hunting for these elusive $uper models.

Redline Club “RLC”
Redline Club Cars or RLC are limited cars purchased by redline club members each year, it is quite an exclusive club, producing some of Hot Wheel’s most sought after pieces! Spectraflame paint, numbered cars!!!

Loose Cars
Loose cars are removed from the blister and vary in condition from “mint” to “playworn” Please see pic of car and submit any questions/request for additional pictures. Mostly mainlines with the occasional Treasure in-between.
